The Spartanburg SWCD's mission is to promote the wise and responsible use of our natural resources through education, demonstration, and technical services for the benefit of all citizens of Spartanburg County.
Hey Educators, are you looking for a fantastic extracurricular enrichment activity for your students? If so, the South Carolina Envirothon competition might be for you! A coaches workshop is held in Columbia each February for educators or other adults interested in forming an Envirothon team. The student competition is usually held in May in Columbia. Teams from all over the state compete by visiting stations designed to test their knowledge in five areas of study, including forestry, soil, water, wildlife, and current issues. The winning team for the state will move on to represent South Carolina at the Canon Nation Envirothon Competition. Please contact our office for more information. Become an Envirothon Coach today!
